Bacon wrapped cheese sticks. You can imagine the rest right? Gooey, stretchy, melted cheese, just covered in bacon!
These smelled so good coming out of the oven. Because the cheese melts, the bacon wrapping will also loosen when these are finished. It’s not quite as sturdy as my previous bacon wrapped recipes, but it’s still delicious. And you can break them, stretch them, dip them in bbq sauce, etc.
Ingredients
- 12 strips partially-cooked bacon
- 6 pieces string cheese
- First, Cut string cheese in half along the length.
- Then, Wrap one bacon slice over each piece of cheese.
- Freeze for at least one hour.
- Heat oil in small frying pan to at least half inch high. Temperature of oil should be about 350°F or slightly less to prevent melting the cheese.
- Cook each bacon wrapped piece of mozzarella in the hot oil until crispy. Place on paper towel to absorb excess grease if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
Store any leftovers in refrigerator and microwave on high for about 10-15 seconds to reheat.
