Meet cranberries, hot halabeno and sweet sugar to create appetizing appetizers for the holidays as your guests plead to the recipe!
Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh, uncooked cranberries
- 1/4 cup green onion
- 1-2 fresh jalapeƱo peppers
- 2 Tbsp. cilantro (optional)
- 3/4 to 1 Cup sugar (according to taste)
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juce
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 16 oz. cream cheese (whipped)
Instructions
- Use the chopper to cut your hands to cut cranberries. (This process takes a long time, but it is best not to use a food processor to cut it because the cranberries become very liquid).
- Sprinkle green onions with green peppers and coriander.
- In medium bowl, add chopped cranberries, green onions, coriander and halabeno.
- Add sugar, lemon juice and salt to the cranberry mix and stir gently until mixed.
- Cover it with a plastic lid and put it in the fridge all night.
- Remove the cranberry mixture from the refrigerator and stir all ingredients together. Sieve each liquid with a strainer with small holes.
- Beat the finely chopped cheese with the hand mixer in a soft mass (about 2 minutes) and spread the cream cheese on the bottom of a circular dish or 9x9 dish
- Pour the cranberry mixture over the cream cheese and refrigerate until ready.
- Use a spoon to spread on the Ritz crackers and enjoy!
